April Fool Then vs Now

April Fools in the past

One of the most famous April Fool jokes ever was a BBC documentary which claimed spaghetti   grew on trees in Switzerland. Many people actually believed it. Well, it was the 1950s.In 1989, Virgin boss Richard Branson landed in a field in Surrey in a balloon disguised as a flying saucer. The Times newspaper once pretended Belgium was to be abolished.
And in 1999, the supermarket chain Morrisons tried selling water which you could dilute.

If you haven't been pranked yet, take a look at the Internet and you'll see a couple of "news items" that will probably make you question what's wrong with this world. Below are five of this year's creatively geeky April Fools' Day jokes.

GOOGLE MAPS x PAC-MAN:

Don't be surprised if you suddenly find your Google Maps view infested by four ghosts and a ton of pellets; it's just the Big G's way of putting some April Fools' flavor into your mundane virtual navigation chores. You could play it, too! Just click on the Pac-Man icon on the bottom left part of the screen when you're on desktop mode to get chompin'.

SAMSUNG'S NEW CLEAVER-PHONE :

Smartphones today are becoming more and more razor-thin, but can they slice? Nope? Well, that's because it's not the all-new superphone Samsung BLADE edge! It does all the regular smartphone-y stuff as well as chop your meat and veggies, thanks to its super sharp diamond edge. It also has a human blood sensor because accidents are bound to happen when you're using it. Ground-breaking!

Domino's steers ahead with world's first driverless pizza delivery vehicles

Domino's: The chain's Domi-No-Driver vehicle

From today, Domino's customers will no longer be greeted with a pizza delivery person when they order a pizza from the chain, instead they’ll be met by the autonomous delivery vehicle.Domino’s said the vehicle, which is able to carry 400% more pizzas thanks to being driverless, will track customers orders by GPS and Domi-No-Driver’s H.U.N.G.A.R. system (Hunger Detection And Ranging) will detect any obstacles en-route, ensuring maximum safety for road users.

 AMAZON DASH BUTTON :

It's annoying when you run out of something, isn't it? Whether it be washing powder, sugar or batteries, Amazon have come up with the solution - the Amazon Dash Button. This nifty little gadget comes with a reusable adhesive and a hook so you can hang, stick, or place it right where you need it (i.e. next to your washing powder). When you're running low, simply press the Dash Button, and Amazon will deliver!

Selfie Shoes :

They’re called Selfie Shoes, and in a video posted online this week by Miz Mooz, they’re dubbed as the solution to the inconvenience selfie sticks can cause because of their size.
“No matter where you go, you’ll always be camera ready,” a voice says in the video, while two friends snap photos from their Selfie Shoe by the waterfront.
